Coronado Island and Mission Bay

On Monday we headed to Silver Strand State Park Beach on Coronado Island (what a gorgeous island - penninsula actually, but so beautiful!) While the skies were cloudy, we enjoyed wave jumping, boogy boarding, sandcastles, shell collecting, runs along the beach and finding sand dollars in the ocean.

Here is our champion boogy boarder - she just had a knack for catching the crests of the waves and riding them all the way back onto the beach!

We headed back to the hotel and somehow those girls convinced us that the swimming pool water would be warmer than the ocean was...it definitely wasn't! After cleaning up, we headed out and walked through the Gaslamp district...really just a bunch of over priced restaurants. We did find a hat shop we all enjoyed, and then headed out to Mission Bay. We headed out onto the pier and had fun watching the fishermen.

We ended our evening stopping for some ice cream and telling silly jokes.
